Tavo Silveira Fine Mata Ortiz Pottery

-|||- SOLD -|||- Tavo Silveira is without doubt one the best, most creative potters in the Village of Mata Ortiz. He has won numerous awards and was the Grand Prize Winner of the 2005 "Concurso de Mata Ortiz" annual pottery competition held in the Village. This fine olla measures a full 15.0" + high x 10.0" diameter at the widest point - it has a 5.0" opening with a flared top. The top portion of the olla is hand polished while the lower portion has a smooth matte finish. The painted design on the lower portion are precisely carved in relief and the surrounding terra cota color has a smooth matte finish. A very fine piece of ceramic art.
